Tree Description

I am native to areas in South Africa; however, I have been naturalised all around the world in temperate areas. My wood is the most significant part of me as it is reason why I have been exported all offer the world, it is soft and burns easily making it ideal for fuel wood. It can also be used for paper production, although it was more commonly used for paper production during the 19th century. Apart from those economic benefits, I am also of ecological significance as I host many species, including, birds, butterflies and insects. I often host pigeons and doves in particular. In terms of growing conditions, I am not very picky, in fact I can grow on poor soil and still flourish.
