I am originally from South America. I am known for beautiful pink flowers which is my key defining feature. I have light, soft wood that can be susceptible to attacks from fungi and insects. However, this wood is easy to carve, which encourages some to use me to make canoes, bowls, boxes, wood boards, and other simple carpenters. I thrive best in moist, well-drained soil.
