I am originally from Mexico and Central America but I can be found in warm, subtropical locations globally. You can find me in Oceania, South East Asia, South Africa, and Kenya. I prefer these warmer climates and will usually grow in woodlands and low forests. I am fairly drought resistant and I thrive best in well-drained sandy loam soil. I am known for my yellow-green fruit which is commonly eaten by both humans and various animals. While my fruit may be tasty, stay away from the seed found in the centre of it as it has been shown to be fatally toxic to both humans and animals.
